Shwenandaw Monastery or Golden Palace Monastery
info Close to the Atumashi Monastery stands the Shwenandaw Monastery (ရွှေနန်းတော်ကျောင်း) meaning "Golden Palace Monastery". This monastery is of great interest not only as a fine example of a traditional Myanmar wooden monastery, but as a fragile reminder of the old Mandalay Fort.

Shwekyimyint Pagoda
info Shwekyimyint Pagoda is located on 24th Street between 82nd and 83rd Street, a little north-east of Zegyo Market or the clock tower, this pagoda's original construction pre-dates Mandalay itself. It was founded in 1167 by Prince Minshin Saw during the Bagan period. He was the exiled son of King Alaungsithu and settled near the present site of Mandalay.

Innwa Bridge
info This British-engineered 16-span bridge, which dated back to 1934, was the only structure that spanned the Ayeyarwaddy River. Inwa Bridge (အင်းဝတံတား) (formerly Ava Bridge) was closed in 1942 when two spans got demolished in order to delay the advancing Japanese Forces.

Tapestry Workshop
Throughout Myanmar, Mandalay Shwe-gyi-do Quarter is the best place for embroidery and appliqué work. Materials used in embroidery and appliqué workers include, golden silvery thread, sequins (plastic metal) velvet, satin, colored cloth, paper produced in Shan State and glue from sticky rice. In making an embroidery cloth or a tapestry, the cloth has to stretch on a wooden frame, about one foot high above the ground and embroider on it later.

The Maha Lawka Marazein Kuthodaw Pagoda
info The Kuthodaw Pagoda (ကုသိုလ်တော်ဘုရား) is situated at about 274.2m from the foot of the Mandalay Hill, to the southeast of the Mandalay Hill. The pagoda was built by King Mindon in M.E 1221. Its height is 57.27m. It was completed along with the construction of three great walls in M.E 1224.
